The ongoing sodomy allegation against Anwar was the re-occurance of what happened 10 years ago when Anwar was charged of the same offence. It was widely speculated (and proved) that Anwar was framed back then, and the mastermind behind it was Mahathir, our previous PM.
8. The same sodomy allegation against Anwar
It was widely believed that UMNO leaders were behind the current sodomy charge against Anwar as a way to prevent him to form a new government or some sort, and you can't blame such speculation when there were so many more issues of great importance wasn't take care of, and instead our government just focus our attention on this case. Speculation was not proven though.
